Poetose's mission is to contribute to the literary landscape of Boston and beyond to make the world a more beautiful home for us all. We believe in spreading the love and creating beautiful things.

Poetose publishes works of poetry, prose, and art, and also sells bookish items. We love work that lives at the intersections of everything. Poetose is a neologism combining the words "poetry" and "prose." We are interested in poetry + prose with an emphasis on the toes.

As writer Derek Walcott said, "What I mean is to be barefoot in spirit."  We wish to explore the ground between fields and disciplines. We value language and the book as beautiful objects. We celebrate the exploration of our collective toes. Fittingly, the Poetose logo is a toe print.

We are open to submissions to be published both online and in print. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.

We do not accept work created with AI. Please also do not submit previously published work (whether shared on social media or self-published). The exception is if you are willing to handwrite the work to create a new form for Poetose to publish.

Poetose claims First Serial Rights (if applicable) for short works published with Poetose Journal, and you retain all rights after initial publication. We only request that you credit Poetose if you publish the work again in the future.

Due to the volume of submissions we are unable to provide individual feedback.

If you would like to stay in touch and receive updates, sign up for our newsletter. We are on Instagram @PoetoseOfficial, Threads, Facebook, X, and TikTok.

Thank you for considering Poetose as a home for your work!
